Odisha NEET UG 2026 Round 2 Counselling: Reporting Schedule, Documents & Fees

Odisha's Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) board has released the schedule and instructions for Round 2 counselling of NEET UG 2026 MBBS and BDS admissions. Reporting Schedule: Dates, Times and Colleges

All reporting must take place at the OJEE office at Gandamunda, Bhubaneswar. There are two reporting dates: 17 September 2026 and 18 September 2026. Your exact date and time depend on which college you were allotted. The schedule is strict—you must arrive during your assigned time slot. Late arrivals may not be accepted.

On 17 September, reporting begins at 10:30 AM and continues until 3:00 PM, with different colleges assigned to different time slots. On 18 September, the same pattern repeats. Documents You Must Bring (Original + Photocopies)

You must bring all required documents in original form, plus one complete set of photocopies. The notice does not provide a detailed list of every document, but it explicitly mentions the following must be brought: all certificates, mark sheets, bond (as mentioned in the Guidelines/Government Notification), CLC (Character/Conduct Certificate), and Nativity Certificate. Admission Fees: Government vs. Private Colleges

The admission fee you must pay depends on whether your allotted college is government or private. For government medical and dental colleges, the fee is Rs. 37,950 per annum. This is the amount you deposit to OJEE at the time of reporting. Note that colleges may collect additional fees at the institutional level after you join, and these may vary from college to college.

For private medical colleges, fees are much higher and vary by college. HiTech Medical College and Hospital, Bhubaneswar charges Rs. 11,56,000 per annum for MBBS. HiTech Medical College and Hospital, Rourkela charges Rs. 8,54,000 per annum. DRIEMS Institute of Health Sciences & Hospital, Kairapari, Cuttack charges Rs. 9,08,000 per annum. HiTech Dental College, Bhubaneswar charges Rs. 3,00,000 per annum for BDS.

If you are an NRI candidate allotted to a private college, you must pay four times the above fees. For example, if you are allotted to HiTech Medical College, Bhubaneswar as an NRI, you pay 4 × Rs. 11,56,000 = Rs. 46,24,000 per annum. These fees are subject to change if the government revises the fee structure; any revision will apply automatically.

How to Pay Admission Fees: Online or Demand Draft

You have two options to pay admission fees: online through your OJEE login ID, or by demand draft. If you choose to pay online, log in to your OJEE portal, complete the payment process, and then report at the OJEE office on your scheduled date with the payment confirmation.

If you choose to pay by demand draft, the draft must be drawn in favour of 'OJEE' from any nationalised bank only, and it must be payable at Bhubaneswar. On the back of the draft, write your name and NEET application number clearly. Bring the draft with you when you report at the OJEE office and submit it at that time. Do not send it by post or courier.

If you are an upgraded candidate who is moving to a college with higher fees than what you paid in Round 1, you must pay the extra fee as an additional demand draft at the OJEE office. For example, if you paid Rs. 37,950 for a government college in Round 1 but upgraded to a private college charging Rs. 11,56,000 in Round 2, you must pay the difference (Rs. 11,18,050) as an extra demand draft.

Freeze and Float Option: What You Must Do Online

Before you report at the OJEE office, you must exercise the Freeze or Float option using your OJEE login ID. This is a critical step that determines whether your seat is locked (Freeze) or remains open for further upgrades (Float) in Round 3.

If you choose Freeze, your seat at the allotted college is locked and you will not participate in Round 3. If you choose Float, your seat remains open and you may be upgraded in Round 3 if a better college or category becomes available. The notice does not specify a deadline for this choice, but it must be done before or at the time of reporting at the OJEE office.

For upgraded candidates who already reported in Round 1: you must also exercise the Freeze or Float option for your Round 2 upgrade. Special Instructions for Upgraded Candidates

If you upgraded to a different college (e.g., from a private college to a government college, or from one government college to another), you must exercise Freeze or Float online and download your new allotment letter, but you do NOT need to report at the OJEE office in Round 2. However, after Round 3 allotment is complete, you must report at the OJEE office with your old provisional admission letter from Round 1, an updated bond, and an affidavit matching your final allotted institute. This applies to all upgraded candidates except those who upgraded from private to government or private to private (same type).

If you upgraded only in category (not college)—meaning you stayed in the same college but got a better category—you do not need to report at the OJEE office in Round 2 at all. Your upgrade is processed automatically.

If you retained your Round 1 allotment without any change (no upgrade, no change in college or category), you do not need to report at the OJEE office in Round 2.

• Upgraded to different college: exercise Freeze/Float online, download new letter, do NOT report in Round 2, but report after Round 3 with old letter, updated bond, and affidavit

What Happens After You Report: Provisional Admission Letter

When you report at the OJEE office on your scheduled date and time with all documents and fees, OJEE will verify your documents and process your provisional admission. Once you have deposited the prescribed admission fees and submitted your Nativity Certificate and CLC in original, you will receive a provisional admission letter from the OJEE office along with an acknowledgement of the documents you submitted.

This provisional admission letter is your proof that you have completed the first stage of admission. Keep it safe. You will need it later if you are upgraded in Round 3. The colleges will not contact you directly at this stage. OJEE will send your details and the admission fees to your allotted college only after the entire counselling process (all rounds) is complete.

Do not report at your allotted college yet. Wait until the entire counselling and admission process is finished. Reporting to the college prematurely may cause confusion or rejection of your application.

In this case, the difference between what you paid and what the government college charges will be refunded to you. For example, if you paid Rs. 11,56,000 for a private college in Round 1 but upgraded to a government college (Rs. 37,950) in Round 3, you will be refunded Rs. 11,18,050. However, this refund will be processed only after final admission is complete, and it will be paid according to government procedure. Do not expect the refund immediately.
