How verification works — and the NRI exception
Before choice filling, every candidate's application must be verified. This happens at a college and time slot assigned by the counselling software, on 14, 17 or 18 August 2026 between 11 am and 4 pm.
Important: this in-person/software-based verification step at a designated college is not applicable for NRI Quota candidates. The notice refers readers to a separate 'Point No. 3' in the full Information Bulletin for the exact process NRI candidates must follow instead. Anyone applying under NRI Quota should read that bulletin carefully rather than assume the same steps apply.
Choice filling and locking
Only candidates who appear in the published list of successfully verified candidates can fill and lock their college/course choices. This list, along with the Round 1 seat matrix (how many seats are available where), will be published on 19 August 2026 after 12 noon.
The choice-filling and locking window runs from 4 pm on 19 August to 4 pm on 21 August 2026. Candidates should lock their choices only after being sure of the order, since allotment is based on locked preferences, merit rank and seat availability.
Allotment result and reporting to college
The Round 1 allotment result will be published on 25 August 2026 after 4 pm. Candidates allotted a seat must then report to and get admitted at the allotted institute.
The reporting/admission window is 26, 27 and 28 August 2026, from 10 am to 4 pm, with original documents, the college's requisite fee, and a bond (where applicable), followed by physical document verification.
There is an important routing difference for private colleges: candidates allotted a seat in any private medical college will not report at that private college directly — the admission process for private medical college allottees will be conducted at different Government Medical Colleges in Kolkata, and a separate notice giving the exact venue will be published on the website. Candidates allotted a seat in any private dental college must report to Dr. R. Ahmed Dental College for the admission process.
