The trap: you cannot switch quota categories now
This is the single most important warning in the notice. The application window for choosing which categories to apply under closed on 27 July 2026 at 3:00 PM, under Clause 4 (General Instructions, points c and e) of the Prospectus.
This means that if you are found ineligible under, say, Christian Minority quota because you never had the certificate to begin with, you cannot now switch and apply under a different category instead. Your only option is to prove your eligibility for the category you already applied under, by submitting the correct supporting document for that same category.
How to check your status and fix it
Every candidate — not just those who think they might be affected — is asked to log in and check their status across every category they applied for. Do not assume you are fine just because you have not heard anything separately.
- Go to the grievance portal: https://ugmqdoc.tnmedicalonline.co.in/
- Log in using your own original application ID and password — do not use anyone else's credentials.
- Check your ineligibility status under every quota category you applied for, one by one.
- If you are marked ineligible, the portal will show you the specific reason recorded for that category.
- Upload the correct, valid supporting document for that reason through the same portal.
- Do this only within the stipulated time — the deadline is fixed and will not be extended.
The deadline that cannot be missed
The last date and time to submit your grievance documents through the portal is 7 August 2026, 3:00 PM. The notice explicitly states that the counselling schedule follows DGHS/MCC (Directorate General of Health Services / Medical Counselling Committee) guidelines, so there will be no extension of this timeline for any reason.
It also states clearly that any representation made through any other means — emails, letters, phone calls, in-person visits — will not be entertained. The portal is the only channel that will be considered.
If you fail to submit the required documents by this deadline, the notice states it will be taken as implied acceptance that you agree with the Selection Committee's decision — meaning you lose eligibility under that quota category for good.
Special note for Linguistic and Christian Minority candidates
Both Linguistic Minority (Telugu and Malayalam) and Christian Minority quotas carry an extra condition beyond just having the right certificate: the candidate must also be a native of Tamil Nadu. The notice repeats this nativity requirement for both categories — simply producing a minority certificate from another state or without proof of Tamil Nadu nativity will not make you eligible.
There is also a specific note for candidates applying to Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. CMC Vellore has 38 seats reserved under a dioceses quota within the Christian Minority category. Selection to these particular seats is based on CMC Vellore's own recommendation, combined with the general eligibility check carried out by the Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee's Management Quota process.
