NTRUHS AP NEET UG 2026 MBBS/BDS Counselling: Registration Dates, Fees, Cutoffs & Documents

Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Vijayawada, has released the official notification for the Andhra Pradesh state quota — called the Competent Authority Quota — for MBBS and BDS admissions for the 2026-27 academic year. This is the application-opening notice: it tells eligible NEET UG 2026 candidates how to register online, what fee to pay, what NEET UG 2026 score they need, and which original certificates they must upload while applying. The same application will be used for every round of state counselling, including the mop-up round and stray vacancies, so there is no separate registration later. This quota covers seats in Andhra Pradesh's government medical and dental colleges, private unaided medical and dental colleges, and 126 MBBS seats at Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women (under SVIMS), Tirupati.

What seats does this notification cover?

This is not a notice for every MBBS/BDS seat in India — it is specifically for the Andhra Pradesh state quota administered by NTRUHS. Do not confuse it with All India Quota counselling run separately by MCC.

The seats covered under this single application are:

• Seats in Government Medical Colleges and Government Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh (after 15% of seats have already gone to the All India Quota)
• General category seats in Government Medical Colleges permitted from 2023-24 onwards
• Category 'A' seats (50% of intake) in Private Un-aided Non-Minority medical and dental colleges affiliated to NTRUHS
• Category 'A' seats (50% of intake) in Private Un-aided Minority medical and dental colleges affiliated to NTRUHS
• 126 MBBS seats in Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women (under SVIMS), Tirupati

Registration schedule and fees

Applications are online only, through drntr.uhsap.in or the AP Online admissions portal. The notice recommends using a desktop or laptop, not a mobile phone, and specifically Internet Explorer 11 to fill the form.

There are two windows — one at the normal fee, and a second, shorter window with a steep late fee. Once paid, the fee (including the late fee) is not refunded or adjusted under any circumstances, so candidates should read the prospectus before paying.

Minimum NEET UG 2026 cutoff scores

Only candidates who meet the qualifying percentile/score for their category in NEET UG 2026 can apply. These are the same NEET UG qualifying cutoffs notified by NTA, reproduced here by NTRUHS for reference.

Who is eligible to apply

Beyond the NEET UG score, candidates must satisfy these conditions to be considered for the state merit list:

• Must be an Indian National, Person of Indian Origin (PIO), or OCI card holder, and must satisfy Andhra Pradesh's Local/Non-local residence rules.
• PIO/OCI candidates who registered as such on or after 04.03.2021 can only be considered against NRI seats or supernumerary seats — not against seats reserved exclusively for Indian citizens.
• Must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Biotechnology and English.
• Minimum marks in science subjects: 50% for OC, 40% for BC/SC/ST, 45% for OC-PwBD.
• Must complete 17 years of age on or before 31 December 2026 — candidates who will not turn 17 by this date cannot apply at all, even for counselling.
• Candidates claiming special-category seats (Anglo Indian, Sports & Games, CAP for Armed Forces children, NCC, PwBD, Bharath Scouts and Guides, Police Martyrs Children) must still meet all the above basic eligibility conditions.
• PwBD candidates must upload documents as per NMC guidelines and appear before a Medical Board constituted for verification.

Local vs Non-local status — why it matters

Andhra Pradesh reserves 85% of seats for 'Local candidates', split between the Andhra University region (Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam) and the Sri Venkateswara University region (Anantapur, Kurnool, Chittoor, Cuddapah, Nellore). The remaining 15% is Unreserved.

A candidate is 'local' to an area if they studied there for at least 4 consecutive academic years ending with the qualifying exam year, or resided there for at least 4 years if they didn't study anywhere during that period. If a candidate cannot be classified as local to either AP region this way, a 7-year study/residence rule across the whole state applies instead.

The Local Status Certificate must be obtained online from the Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO). Residence certificates must be from Revenue authorities and must clearly state the years of residence.

For Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada (a state-wide institution), 85% of seats are split 65.62% for Andhra University region locals and 34.38% for Sri Venkateswara University region locals; the remaining 15% is unreserved. Government Dental College & Hospital, Vijayawada has been reclassified as a non-statewide institution under Andhra University with 85% local / 15% unreserved admissions from 2024-25.

Candidates can also qualify for the 15% AP Unreserved seats if they are local to either AP region, or have resided in AP for 10 years (excluding time spent studying/working outside the state) themselves or through a parent, or are children/spouses of AP or Central Government/PSU/university employees working within Andhra Pradesh.

Documents you must upload — and the traps that can get you rejected

Every certificate must be uploaded as a scanned original in the exact file type and size limit specified, along with a passport photo and signature. The application is rejected automatically — with no email or call — if any mandatory certificate is missing, illegible, or improperly scanned. There is no second chance to fix this after submission.

Some specific traps flagged in the notice deserve extra attention:

• Qualifying exam certificate: only a marks memo is accepted — a grade certificate is NOT accepted.
• Community/caste certificate: only an Integrated Community Certificate issued online by the Mandal Revenue Officer/Competent Authority of Andhra Pradesh is valid.
• BC candidates: only BC-A/BC-B/BC-C/BC-D/BC-E certificates count for state quota. An OBC certificate will NOT be accepted.
• SC candidates: the caste certificate must specifically mention the sub-group — SC Group-I, SC Group-II, or SC Group-III. A caste certificate without the sub-group will be rejected under any circumstances.
• EWS candidates: the Income and Asset Certificate must be valid for 2026-27 (financial year 2025-26), issued by a Tahsildar of the Andhra Pradesh government on or after 01.04.2026. EWS certificates from any other state will not be considered.
• Caste certificates must be issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh only — certificates from Telangana are not accepted, since the common admission arrangement between the two states ended on 01.06.2024.
• Migrants from Telangana claiming AP local status must have a Local Status Certificate issued online on or before 01.06.2024 — manually issued certificates are not accepted.
• For claiming the 15% AP Unreserved seats as a non-local candidate, you need proof of 10 years' study/residence in AP, or a current government/PSU/university employment certificate of a parent working in AP.
• PwBD candidates must submit a valid UDID card, a self-certified affidavit as per NMC guidelines, and a Medical Assessment Report from an MCC-designated assessment board.
• NCC, CAP (Armed Forces children), Sports & Games, and other special-category certificates each have their own detailed sub-requirements — check the full list before uploading.

After you apply: merit list, verification and joining

NTRUHS will prepare a State Merit position based on NEET UG 2026 score/rank and the eligibility details submitted. A provisional merit list is released first, followed by a final merit list after examining any grievances.

Getting a merit rank does NOT guarantee admission. The university verifies eligibility — educational qualifications, local/non-local status, category — only at the stage of joining the allotted college, based on the uploaded scanned certificates. If anything doesn't match at that point, the provisional allotment is cancelled without any prior notice.

At joining, the candidate must personally submit a printout of the filled application along with all original certificates and one set of self-attested copies to the Principal of the allotted college. Do NOT send the printout to the university — only to the college.

Fake, false or forged certificates found at any stage will result in cancellation of the seat without notice, and further action against the candidate.

The same application form will be used for all rounds — including mop-up round and stray vacancies — so there is no need to register again later. No new registrations will be allowed after the current schedule closes.

The university will not contact candidates individually. All updates on merit lists, web-option schedules, and allotments will be posted only on the NTRUHS website.

Fee structure for admitted students

The tuition fee for 2026-27 will be decided by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, subject to the outcome of certain pending writ petitions (W.P. Nos. 32975, 33162 and 35090 of 2022). Candidates should refer to the prospectus for the fee structure that has been applicable to batches admitted from 2023-24 onwards, since the final 2026-27 fee is not yet fixed in this notice.
