If you are a NEET UG 2026 candidate with domicile in Jammu and Kashmir or Ladakh, today matters a lot: the registration window for JK state counselling closes at midnight. This registration is what feeds the Provisional Union Territory Merit List, which decides who gets MBBS and BDS seats at colleges across the region. Missing the deadline does not just delay your application — it removes you from this counselling round entirely, since JKBOPEE (Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations) does not accept late entries. Anyone who qualified NEET UG 2026 above the category cutoff and holds valid domicile documents should treat this as a same-day task, not something to leave for tomorrow.

J&K and Ladakh domicile candidates who qualified NEET UG 2026 above the category cutoff must complete registration, document upload and fee payment on jkbopee.gov.in before midnight tonight, or they will be excluded from this year's merit list.

What this registration actually decides

This step is not the final seat allotment — it is the gateway to it. Once registration closes, JKBOPEE compiles the Provisional Union Territory Merit List (PUTML) using NEET UG 2026 scores and category details submitted by candidates. Only those who registered in this window will appear on that list. Choice filling for actual MBBS and BDS colleges, and the seat allotment that follows, both happen after the merit list is published.

In other words, registering today gets you into the race; it doesn't guarantee a seat. But not registering removes you from the race altogether, no matter how good your NEET score is.

Who qualifies to register

Only candidates domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir or Ladakh are eligible for this counselling. On top of domicile, JKBOPEE has set category-wise minimum NEET UG 2026 scores that a candidate must clear to be considered.

CategoryMinimum NEET UG 2026 score required
Open Merit, JKPM, CDP, Sports, EWS213
Open Merit PwD, EWS PwD194

Documents you need before you can submit the form

Registration involves uploading scanned copies of several documents alongside the online fee payment. Candidates should have clean, correctly sized scans ready rather than trying to arrange these at the last minute.

  • NEET UG 2026 scorecard
  • Class 10+2 marks card
  • Domicile certificate for Jammu and Kashmir or Ladakh
  • Matriculation certificate or a document proving date of birth
  • Category certificate in the prescribed UT format, if claiming reservation
  • ST certificate for Ladakh candidates claiming that category
  • Compulsory Service Bond, specifically for candidates from Ladakh

The certificate date matters as much as the deadline

There is a detail easy to miss: today is also the cut-off date for the validity of category certificates. Any category certificate dated after today will not be accepted by JKBOPEE, even if the candidate otherwise registers on time. If your certificate is older or being freshly issued, check its issue date carefully before uploading — a certificate dated tomorrow, even by mistake, could cost you your category benefit for this round.

This is a common trap in state-level counselling: candidates focus only on the registration deadline and overlook that supporting documents have their own validity rules.

Quick reference: how to complete registration

The process itself is straightforward but leaves no room for last-minute technical glitches, so candidates should not wait until the final hour.

  • Go to jkbopee.gov.in and open the NEET UG 2026 counselling registration link on the homepage
  • Log in using your NEET roll number and other required credentials
  • Fill in personal, academic and category details accurately
  • Upload scanned copies of all required documents in the specified format
  • Pay the counselling fee through the online payment gateway and save the receipt
  • Submit the form and download the confirmation page — recheck every entered detail before closing the session

A special note on ASCOMS Jammu seats

This counselling cycle also covers Hindu Minority and NRI quota seats at Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS), Jammu. Candidates eligible under these categories should confirm the specific documentation ASCOMS requires in addition to the standard JKBOPEE list, since minority and NRI quota seats often carry their own separate eligibility proofs.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I miss tonight's registration deadline?

You will not be included in the Provisional UT Merit List for this counselling round, which means you cannot participate in choice filling or seat allotment under JKBOPEE for MBBS/BDS seats this cycle.

Does registering guarantee me a seat?

No. Registration only makes you eligible to appear on the merit list. Your actual seat depends on your rank on that list, the choices you fill later, and seat availability.

My NEET UG 2026 score is below the category minimum — can I still register?

No. JKBOPEE has set category-wise minimum scores (213 for Open Merit/JKPM/CDP/Sports/EWS, 194 for PwD categories, 177 for SC/ST/OBC and other reserved categories). Scoring below your applicable minimum makes you ineligible for this counselling.

Can candidates outside Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh apply through this portal?

No. This is a domicile-based state counselling. Only candidates with valid J&K or Ladakh domicile certificates are eligible to register here.

What if my category certificate is dated after today?

JKBOPEE will not accept category certificates issued after today's date for this round. Check the issue date on your certificate before uploading it.

What comes right after registration closes?

JKBOPEE will publish the Provisional UT Merit List on jkbopee.gov.in. Document verification and college choice filling will follow that announcement, leading eventually to seat allotment.

If you or someone in your family is a J&K or Ladakh domicile NEET UG 2026 candidate, check your eligibility, documents and certificate dates right now and complete the jkbopee.gov.in registration before midnight. Keep watching the portal for the Provisional UT Merit List announcement, since that will set the timeline for choice filling and seat allotment.
