BCECEB UGMAC-2026: Bihar NEET UG Counselling Registration Opens for MBBS/BDS (Round-1 & 2) — Dates, Fees, Documents

The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has released the official notice for Under Graduate Medical Admission Counselling (UGMAC)-2026. This is the state-level counselling that fills MBBS and BDS seats (along with BVSc & A.H. and BFSc seats) in Bihar's government and private colleges, based on NEET(UG)-2026 rank. The notice opens online registration and choice filling for Round-1 and Round-2 of counselling, and lays out the fees, security deposit, documents and full schedule. This is an application-opening notice — action is required from every candidate who wants a Bihar state-quota seat.

What is UGMAC-2026 and who can apply

UGMAC-2026 is Bihar's state counselling process for admission to first-year MBBS and BDS courses (as well as BVSc & A.H. and BFSc) in the state's government and private medical/dental colleges, and government veterinary/fisheries colleges. Candidates are selected purely on the merit list/rank prepared from NEET(UG)-2026 scores, as released by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Any candidate who has qualified NEET(UG)-2026 and is interested in a seat in Bihar can apply — there is no separate domicile-only restriction mentioned for private colleges, but candidates should check the Prospectus for detailed eligibility and reservation rules applicable in Bihar.

The colleges covered include 12 government medical colleges (such as Patna Medical College, IGIMS Patna, Darbhanga Medical College, ESIC Bihta, and others), Patna Dental College, government veterinary/fisheries colleges, and 14 private medical colleges plus 3 private dental colleges across the state. Important dates — Round-1 and Round-2

The schedule below covers registration, choice filling, seat allotment and admission for both rounds as given in the notice. Round-3 dates will be published later through a separate advertisement.

How to register — step by step

Registration is done only once for both Round-1 and Round-2 — there is no separate window to register fresh for Round-2, so this single application decides eligibility for both rounds.

The process has multiple steps:

• Step 1 — Registration: authenticate using NEET(UG)-2026 Roll No., Name and Date of Birth. An OTP goes to the mobile number and email registered with NTA during the NEET form — these cannot be changed during the entire session. Create a password; an UGMAC ID is generated for all future use.
• Step 2 — Fill Personal Information, Contact Details, Educational Information, then upload photo, signature and required documents (Ward Quota certificate from the Registrar of Bihar Animal Science University must be uploaded if claiming that quota).
• Step 3 — Preview the application; correct any errors before Final Submit.
• Step 4 — Pay Counselling Fee and Security Deposit online (Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI) plus a processing charge. This fee is non-refundable.
• Step 5 — Fill choices of course and college in order of preference, then use 'Choice Locking' before the deadline. Unlocked choices auto-lock at the deadline.
• Step 6 — Download the Confirmation Page and Fee Receipt and verify all entries.
• Step 7 — Download the locked Choice Slip for your records.

Counselling fee and security deposit

Fees differ by category and by whether you are applying for government or private institutions. The counselling fee is non-refundable, but the security deposit is refundable if you don't get a seat, or once admission formalities are settled properly.

Documents required at seat allotment and admission

If you are allotted a seat, you must upload clear scanned copies of the required documents while downloading your Provisional Seat Allotment Order, and carry the originals to the allotted institute for physical verification (Freeze candidates) or online verification (Float candidates).

Watch out for these traps

The notice flags several situations that can cost a candidate a seat if ignored.

• ⚠️ Your NEET registered mobile number and email cannot be changed throughout the session — OTPs for registration, choice locking/unlocking all go there. If that mobile/email is inaccessible, resolve it before you start.
• ⚠️ Counselling fee is non-refundable once paid, and once the application form is finally submitted, it cannot be withdrawn under any circumstance.
• ⚠️ For DQ (Persons with Benchmark Disability) quota, the certificate must be issued only by authorised centres/institutes on the prescribed proforma (Annexure-5, 6, 7 of the Prospectus, or the NEET-UG 2026 Information Bulletin format), along with UDID Card and Affidavit. Certificates from any other centre will be rejected — merge all DQ documents into a single PDF for upload.
• ⚠️ For NRI quota, you must select 'NRI' at the time of registration itself and upload the prescribed documents (NEET Score Card, valid passport, NRI Certificate from the Embassy/Consulate, notarised affidavit, relationship verification) as per the DGHS/MCC notification dated 27.05.2026 — otherwise you will not be considered eligible for NRI quota.
• ⚠️ If a payment is deducted from your bank account but does not reflect in the Board's system (even if an SMS/email says 'submitted successfully'), do NOT wait — re-pay immediately, or your form will be rejected.
• ⚠️ Freeze candidates who are allotted a seat but fail to complete document verification and admission at the allotted institute within the scheduled window will have their seat cancelled — and from Round-2 onward, this also means forfeiture of the security deposit.
• ✅ Reserved category (BC/EBC/SC/ST) candidates who filled UR/EWS/UR(DQ)/EWS(DQ) category for private college admission are still eligible to participate in UGMAC-2026 counselling for private colleges.

Understanding Freeze vs Float

Once seats are allotted, candidates choose between two options that affect what happens next:

Freeze means you accept the allotted seat and do not want an upgrade in later rounds. You must physically visit the allotted institute with all original documents within the scheduled period to complete document verification and admission — failing this cancels your seat.

Float means you accept the current allotment but want a chance at a better seat in the next round. You do not need to visit the institute physically; verification happens online based on your uploaded documents. Round-1 allotted candidates also have a 'Free-Exit' option to leave without losing their security deposit, remaining eligible for Round-2.

Important restriction: candidates allotted a seat through Round-1 cannot remove that choice while editing choices for Round-2 — they can only add further preferences.
