Dr NTR University of Health Sciences has published the Andhra Pradesh NEET UG 2026 rank-wise list, clearing 33,220 candidates for the state's MBBS/BDS counselling. Here's what this list means, how it differs from the final merit list, and what AP aspirants should do next.

If you took NEET UG 2026 from Andhra Pradesh, there's an important update you need to check right away. Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), the body that runs AP's state medical and dental counselling, has published a rank-wise list confirming 33,220 candidates are eligible to move forward in the state's admission process. This is not the final merit list yet — that comes later, after candidates fill out the online application and submit their preferences. Knowing the difference between this rank list and the eventual merit list can save you from confusion and missed deadlines in the weeks ahead.

Being on the AP NEET UG 2026 rank list only makes you eligible to apply for state counselling — you still need to complete the online application, submit preferences, and (if applicable) get your certificates verified before the final merit list decides your seat.

What NTRUHS has actually released

The list published at drntr.uhsap.in is a rank-wise list of NEET UG 2026 qualifiers from Andhra Pradesh who meet the basic eligibility criteria for the state's MBBS and BDS seats. NTRUHS has confirmed 33,220 such candidates.

This is distinct from the 'merit list', which NTRUHS will prepare only after candidates log in, fill the counselling application, and lock in their college/course preferences. In other words, the rank list tells you that you're in the pool; the merit list — released later — is what actually determines where you stand for seat allotment.

A separate notification with the full counselling schedule (registration dates, choice-filling window, and seat allotment rounds) is expected shortly. Aspirants should keep checking the official site rather than relying on unofficial sources for these dates.

How to check your name on the list

The process is straightforward and doesn't require logging in with credentials at this stage:

  • Go to drntr.uhsap.in
  • Open the 'Admissions' section on the homepage
  • Click the link for 'NEET UG – 2026 All India Rank-wise qualified list of candidates from State of Andhra Pradesh'
  • The list will open on screen — download and save a copy for your records

Where the state's toppers stand

The list shows the highest AP-domicile All India Rank (AIR) this year is 36, scored by a candidate with 700 marks, followed by AIR 74 with 695 marks. Several candidates in the 680–692 mark range occupy the next AIR positions.

These figures give a sense of how competitive scores translate into ranks this year, but remember: AIR is calculated at the national level, while your actual seat in AP's state quota depends on your rank relative to other AP-domicile candidates, your category, and the choices you fill during counselling.

Category-wise qualifying cutoffs for NEET UG 2026

NTRUHS has also indicated the score ranges and percentile cutoffs used to determine eligibility across categories. These are the national qualifying benchmarks candidates needed to clear to be considered at all — not category-specific seat-allotment cutoffs, which will differ and depend on how many candidates apply for AP counselling in each category.

PwBD and special-category candidates: a separate, later process

If you fall under the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category, or under special quotas such as Sports & Games, Scouts and Guides, NCC, CAP (Central Armed Police/similar categories), Anglo-Indian, or Police Martyr Children, your place on the merit list will not be finalised through this rank list alone.

NTRUHS has stated that for these categories, the final merit list will be prepared only after you submit the required supporting certificates and the concerned authorities verify your claim. Practically, this means candidates in these categories should start gathering certificates now — disability certificates from designated medical boards, sports certificates from recognised bodies, service certificates for NCC/CAP, and so on — so there's no last-minute scramble once the verification window opens.

What AP NEET aspirants should do right now

Even though the detailed counselling schedule hasn't been released yet, there are a few things worth doing immediately:

  • Download and save the rank list PDF from drntr.uhsap.in for your own records
  • Keep your NEET scorecard, category certificates, income/EWS certificate, and residence proof ready and scanned
  • Watch for the separate NTRUHS notification with registration, choice-filling and seat allotment dates
  • If applying under a special category (PwBD, sports, NCC, etc.), start collecting the specific certificates your category requires
  • Don't confuse this AP state-quota process with the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling run separately by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) — you may be eligible for both and should track both timelines

Frequently asked questions

Does being on the rank list guarantee me a seat?

No. The rank list only confirms you are eligible to participate in AP's counselling process. Your actual seat depends on completing the online application, submitting your preferences, and where you land in the final merit list and subsequent seat allotment rounds.

What is the difference between the rank list and the merit list?

The rank list is a preliminary list of eligible candidates released by NTRUHS. The merit list is prepared afterwards, once candidates have registered, filled the counselling application, and submitted their college/course preferences. The merit list is what's actually used for seat allotment.

When will the AP NEET UG 2026 counselling schedule be released?

NTRUHS has said a separate notification with the full schedule — covering registration, choice-filling, and seat allotment dates — will be issued shortly. Check drntr.uhsap.in regularly for this update.

I belong to the PwBD or a special category (sports, NCC, Anglo-Indian, etc.) — what should I do?

Your position in the final merit list for these categories will be decided only after you submit the required certificates and they are verified by the relevant authority. Start preparing your certificates now so you're ready when the verification process opens.

Is this AP list the same as the MCC All India Quota list?

No, these are separate processes. This rank list is for Andhra Pradesh's state quota seats, managed by NTRUHS. All India Quota (AIQ) seats are allotted separately by the MCC. Eligible AP candidates can register for both.

What were the category-wise qualifying cutoffs this year?

The general (UR/EWS) qualifying cutoff was the 50th percentile (score range 715–213), while OBC, SC and ST categories had a 40th percentile cutoff (212–177). PwBD candidates across categories had slightly different score bands, as shown in the table above.

The next real deadline for AP NEET UG 2026 aspirants is the counselling schedule notification, not this rank list — so don't wait passively; use this time to organise your documents and certificates. MedAdmit will update this piece as soon as NTRUHS releases the registration and choice-filling dates for AP state counselling.
